What does sound need to travel?
A vibration can cross air or water, but not empty space as sound.

What should you look for?
How did the particles move?
- 01Vacuum
- 02Water
- 03Air
02
Why does this happen?
Sound is a mechanical wave
Sound travels when particles in a medium vibrate and pass energy to neighboring particles.
Frequency and amplitude differ
Frequency relates to pitch; amplitude relates to the size of the pressure variation and perceived loudness.
Particle spacing and wave speed are qualitative; volume is capped and starts muted.
03
Move it before reading the answer
Change medium, frequency, and amplitude. Audio is optional and muted at first.
